Even though the telling of history should be inclusive of all people, it unfortunately is not. February is a time to take a special and closer examination of African American history from the monumental challenges of slavery and instutionalized racism, as faced by many non-Caucasian citizens, to the achievements and successes of African American movements and individuals -- politicians, writers, artists, musicians, doctors, lawyers, advocates, teachers, civil servants, service members, and everyday people who do what they can to make this world a better place in which to live -- who continue to inspire all Americans.
